In addition to being a leisure activity, coin stacking has more to offer. It has become a form of artistic craftsmanship that creates sculptures that are captivating and breathtaking.
A good sense of balance and a steady hand are needed to create coin stacking sculptures.
A traditional sculpture contains glue or plaster to hold the coins together, but these are stacked without either. To make the coin support, the artist will need to place the coins in the right position.
As a result, the artist must defy gravity while creating intricate arrangements. Sounds challenging, doesn’t it?
Well, not everyone has a careful hand and an outrageous sense of balance. And this truth makes Japanese Twitter user @thumb_tani (aka Tanu) an extraordinary artist.
Coin Tower Craftsman
Different denominations of coins are used by Tanu to utilize each distinct size and weight.
A powerful effect is achieved by precisely positioning each coin. In some of his sculptures, a single upright coin is used as the base. His sculptures of coin stackings appear to be about to tumble at any moment.
It’s hard to deny, though, that breaking down sculptures are apprehensive, which makes looking at them more thrilling.
As well as coins, Tanu uses other objects to add variety to his coin stacking sculptures.
To keep the coins in place, he uses spoons, toothpicks, marbles, tweezers, and glass jars. The stunning sculptures he creates using coins are available on his Twitter account.
