Brand New Flavour – Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola will launch its first brand new flavour in over a decade on February 25, Orange Vanilla Coke. Coca-Cola is one of the biggest brands in the world. No matter where you are on the planet or what language you speak, everyone recognizes that red and white logo. It has been a mainstay in the soda industry for well over a century. During that time, the recipe for the beverage has barely changed. Well, you know, aside from it not containing cocaine anymore.
Other tweaks to the classic recipe have been far less extreme than adding or removing class A drugs. Coke has had a variety of different flavours added to it over the decades in order to create alternative tastes. Some have stuck and others haven’t. Cherry Coke has become the most popular of those added flavours, with Vanilla in a close second.
The soda conglomerate revealed via a press release last week that later this month, it will add a brand new flavour to the Coca-Cola family. Orange Vanilla Coke. Yeah, we’re not sure about it either. According to the release, it is the first entirely new flavour added to its range in more than a decade. Makes sense as Vanilla Coke came onto the scene in 2007, with Cherry becoming a permanent fixture all the way back in the mid-1980s.
The orange vanilla flavour will be available as both regular Coke and also Coke Zero Sugar. So why such a strange flavour combination? Well, Coke has shed a little light on that. Apparently, the intention is “to bring back positive memories of carefree summer days.” Coca-Cola is aiming to do that by infusing the taste of creamy orange popsicles with its signature drink.
An intriguing concept, and not one that is being released nationwide on a whim. Orange Vanilla Coke has already been made available in Canada and apparently, the feedback has been positive. That’s why starting from February 25, the new flavour will be available in the US. It’ll be available in cans and bottles as well as via Wendy’s restaurants throughout the end of February and March.
